PSUBB 12V PSU Breakout Board for Miners

PSUBB is a 12V PSU breakout board designed to provide organized power distribution from compatible server power supplies for compact Bitcoin mining and hardware projects.

It provides multiple XT60 outputs, fan headers and accessory power connections from a single supported PSU.

PSUBB includes:

6 × XT60 12V outputs for primary power distribution,
6 × 4-pin 12V fan headers for always-on cooling when the main output is active,
1 × always-on 12V low-power output, and
1 × switched 12V accessory screw terminal.

Power can be turned on using the onboard switch or, when installed in a compatible enclosure or kit, through the 2-pin external switch header using a case power-button lead similar to a PC motherboard front-panel switch connection.

PSUBB does not increase the capacity of the power supply.

Available current and total output depend on the PSU model, input voltage, wiring, connectors and cooling used in the final build.

PSUBB Power Outputs

  • 6 × XT60 12V outputs for primary power distribution
  • 6 × 4-pin 12V fan headers powered when the main output is on
  • 1 × always-on 12V output rated up to 2A
  • 1 × switched 12V screw terminal for low-to-moderate power accessories
  • Onboard power switch
  • 2-pin external power-switch header

The fan headers provide 12V power only. They do not provide PWM fan control or tach/RPM feedback.

Tested Compatible Power Supplies

PSUBB has been tested with the following server power supplies:

  • DPS-750RB A
  • DPS-1200FB A
  • NSTNS-PL11

Compatibility with other power supplies is not guaranteed unless specifically tested.

Best Uses for PSUBB

  • Compact Bitcoin mining builds
  • Bitaxe and other low-power miner setups
  • Multi-device 12V power distribution
  • Bench testing and development setups
  • Cooling systems that need multiple 12V fan outputs
  • Custom hardware enclosures using server power supplies

Important PSUBB Safety Information

  • PSUBB must be installed in the holder or enclosure designed for it and secured with two screws.
    • This helps protect against exposed connectors and contacts under the PCB.
  • Do not operate the breakout board loose or unsecured.
  • The switched screw terminal is intended for accessory use and is not the primary high-current miner output.
  • The always-on 12V output is limited to 2A.
  • Fan headers provide 12V power only and do not provide PWM control or tach/RPM feedback.
  • PSUBB does not increase PSU capacity. Total safe load is limited by the power supply, AC input voltage, wiring, connectors and cooling.
  • Always verify polarity before connecting equipment.
  • Disconnect power before installing, removing or changing wiring.
  • Use appropriate wire gauge, connectors, circuit protection and cooling for your load.
  • For indoor use only.

PSUBB FAQ

What is PSUBB?

PSUBB is a 12V server PSU breakout board that distributes power through six XT60 outputs, six fan headers and additional accessory power connections for compact mining and hardware builds.

How many XT60 outputs does PSUBB have?

PSUBB provides six XT60 12V outputs for primary power distribution.

Can PSUBB power cooling fans?

Yes. PSUBB includes six 4-pin 12V fan headers. These headers provide power when the main output is on, but they do not provide PWM speed control or tach/RPM feedback.

Which power supplies work with PSUBB?

PSUBB has been tested with DPS-750RB A, DPS-1200FB A and NSTNS-PL11 server power supplies. Compatibility with other models should be verified before use.

Can PSUBB turn a server power supply on and off?

Yes. The board can be switched using its onboard power switch or through the 2-pin external switch header when used with a compatible case power-button lead.

Does PSUBB increase the wattage or current available from the PSU?

No. PSUBB only distributes the power available from the connected power supply. Maximum usable power still depends on the PSU, input voltage, wiring, connectors and cooling.

Can PSUBB be used without a case or holder?

No. PSUBB should be installed in the designed holder or enclosure and secured before use to help protect the exposed contacts and connectors under the PCB.
