CryptoMachine Seed
Roll. Verify. Write. Destroy.
CryptoMachine Seed is a dedicated offline BIP39 seed generator that creates 12-word or 24-word Bitcoin recovery phrases from physical six-sided dice.
Instead of relying on an online service, phone app, browser, cloud-connected device, or an internal random-number generator you cannot directly observe, CryptoMachine Seed starts with physical randomness you create yourself.
Roll the dice. Enter the results on the touchscreen. Review the entropy. Generate your BIP39 recovery phrase. Write it down. Then destroy the active session.
Generate a BIP39 Seed From Physical Dice
CryptoMachine Seed uses standard six-sided dice as the entropy source.
With five dice, the guided ceremony uses:
- 50 physical dice rolls for a 12-word BIP39 recovery phrase
(10 shakes of five dice) - 100 physical dice rolls for a 24-word BIP39 recovery phrase
(20 shakes of five dice)
Each roll is entered directly on the touchscreen in the order shown. The completed dice input is processed locally using SHA-256 before the required BIP39 entropy and checksum are generated.
The BIP39 checksum is calculated automatically by the device. You never need to select, guess, or manually calculate the checksum word.
12-Word and 24-Word BIP39 Recovery Phrases
Choose the seed length that fits your wallet or backup workflow:
- 12-word BIP39 recovery phrase
- 24-word BIP39 recovery phrase

What’s Included
CryptoMachine Seed includes the hardware and physical tools needed to complete the guided dice-based seed generation ceremony.
The touchscreen guides you through the complete process, including dice entry, review, entropy processing, mnemonic review, and final session destruction.
Offline Means Offline
CryptoMachine Seed is designed as a focused, single-purpose seed generation device with no network dependency.
- No Wi-Fi
- No Bluetooth
- No cloud account
- No analytics
- No telemetry
- No synchronization service
- No wallet connection required
- No network connection required
No Intentional Seed Storage
Dice inputs, generated entropy, mnemonic information, and other sensitive session data are used only during the active seed ceremony.
Select Finish & Destroy when your seed has been securely recorded. The active session is cleared and the device returns to a fresh state.
If the device is left unattended, the display dims after 3 minutes, a destruction warning appears after 9 minutes, and the active session is automatically destroyed at 10 minutes.
Roll → Verify → Write → Destroy
You Control the Entropy
Many electronic devices generate randomness internally. The user must trust that process without directly observing the original entropy source.
CryptoMachine Seed takes a different approach.
The randomness begins with physical dice in your hands.
You create the input, enter each result yourself, and the device deterministically processes that completed dice sequence into BIP39 entropy.
Review the Entropy Details
CryptoMachine Seed includes an Entropy Details view so the seed-generation process does not have to be a black box.
The device is built around a documented and deterministic process that can be independently reproduced and checked against known test vectors.
For users who want to go deeper, CryptoMachine Seed documentation includes deterministic verification data and instructions for independently checking generated results.
Inspect the Code. Verify the Process.
CryptoMachine Seed source code, verification documentation, test vectors, release information, and Quick Start documentation are publicly available on GitHub.
How CryptoMachine Seed Processes Your Dice
The entered dice sequence is processed using SHA-256:
- 12-word mode: the first 128 bits of the SHA-256 result are used as BIP39 entropy.
- 24-word mode: the full 256-bit SHA-256 result is used as BIP39 entropy.
The required BIP39 checksum is then calculated by the firmware and appended according to the BIP39 standard before the recovery phrase is displayed.
Dedicated Hardware for One Job
CryptoMachine Seed runs on a dedicated RP2350-based touchscreen platform with a 3.5-inch display.
The interface was designed specifically around the seed-generation ceremony rather than adapting a general-purpose computer, phone, or browser.
There are no wallet-management menus, transaction screens, exchange integrations, cloud services, or unrelated applications competing for attention.
Designed for Bitcoin Self-Custody
CryptoMachine Seed does not replace your hardware wallet or signing device.
Its job is intentionally narrower:
Generate a BIP39 recovery phrase offline using physical entropy, let you review the process, help you record the seed securely, and clear the active electronic session when finished.
Once generated, the recovery phrase can be used with compatible BIP39 wallets and backup systems.
What CryptoMachine Seed Does Not Do
CryptoMachine Seed has one primary job: create a BIP39 recovery phrase from physical dice entropy.
- It does not connect to your wallet.
- It does not sign Bitcoin transactions.
- It does not require an account.
- It does not require a network connection.
- It does not upload your recovery phrase.
- It does not intentionally store your seed for future retrieval.
- It does not depend on a cloud service.
- It does not phone home.

CryptoMachine Seed FAQ
Does CryptoMachine Seed generate the randomness internally?
No. The seed-generation process begins with physical D6 dice rolls entered by the user. The device processes that completed dice input deterministically.
How many dice rolls are required?
A 12-word seed uses 50 physical dice rolls. A 24-word seed uses 100 physical dice rolls.
Does CryptoMachine Seed choose the final checksum word?
The BIP39 checksum is calculated automatically from the generated entropy according to BIP39. The user does not manually choose a checksum word.
Does CryptoMachine Seed store my recovery phrase?
CryptoMachine Seed is designed without intentional seed persistence. Sensitive information exists only during the active ceremony and is cleared when the session is destroyed.
Does it have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
No. CryptoMachine Seed is designed without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity.
Is CryptoMachine Seed a hardware wallet?
No. It does not hold wallet accounts, connect to your wallet, or sign Bitcoin transactions. Its purpose is offline BIP39 recovery-phrase generation from physical dice entropy.
CryptoMachine Seed v1.0.0 Is Ready
Production firmware v1.0.0 has completed release verification, hardware acceptance testing, and final production validation.
Production units are flashed with the frozen v1.0.0 firmware and individually checked before shipment.
